Heritage Academy’s mission statement:

We are dedicated to youth, their growth and development, and believe in building sound character through strong families, strong communities, and a strong nation.

While teaching the academic disciplines, Heritage Academy is dedicated to instilling into the minds and hearts of our youth knowledge of and respect for the ideals and values of the great men and women of history, including those who founded the American nation.

As they gain an appreciation of these people of accomplishment, they will be ready to provide the selfless service to their fellow citizens and to their country which will be required in the coming years to assist in restoring America’s greatness.

Heritage Academy exists to this end.

A NOTE FROM Mrs. Udall:

Welcome back from Spring Break!  Just a reminder that testing week is coming up.  We will be administrating the state mandated tests the week of April 8-April 11.  The state dictates the schedule and we do not have the option of moving the dates, so please plan on having your scholars attend school this week.

Please see the attached schedule to determine days and times your scholars should attend school that week.

Classes begin each day at 12:15 after testing sessions each morning.

No scholars should be on campus Thursday, April 11 until noon. There will be no lunch service that day.

A few commonly asked questions:

  1. Do Seniors need to test? No, seniors do not test. Classes begin at 12:15 each day for seniors.
  2. What if my scholar attends EVIT? All EVIT scholars are required to test at Heritage during testing week. Please notify EVIT and inform them of your scholar’s absence for testing that week. Again, check the testing schedule to determine the days your scholar needs to be excused.
  3. Will lunch be served during testing week? The PTO will have $1 lunch grab bags on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.  No PTO lunch options are available on Thursday. MyHotLunchbox will not be delivering lunch during testing week.
  4. Will there be a makeup day if my scholar misses testing? No. There will not be make up days.
  5. What about the solar eclipse happening on April 8? Testing ends on Monday around 11:30 a.m. Science teachers will have eclipse glasses available for scholars in the courtyard immediately following testing.

We appreciate your support and hope this information is helpful.

APPLICATION & MERIT TUITION DEADLINE MAY 1, 2024

Students applying to Arizona for fall 2024 will be automatically considered for the Wildcat Tuition Award. Merit scholarships are awarded based on the student’s core, unweighted high school GPA through the sixth semester.

Students must complete their fall 2024 admission application by May 1, 2024 to be considered for these awards. This is the final deadline for merit scholarships and will not be extended.

PLACEMENTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Placements are officially open! All incoming students are required to complete placements in Math, Second Language, and Writing. Placements help us ensure that students are enrolled in the best courses as they begin their academic journey. We encourage students to complete all placements at least two weeks prior to Orientation. Students can complete their placements and see more detailed information about each subject area in their Next Steps Center.

UNDERSTANDING COSTS & FINANCIAL AID

Students and their families are invited to join our financial aid experts for an upcoming virtual workshop. Students will learn more about aid opportunities and their options for funding their Arizona education. Additional information and registration is available at bit.ly/BearDownWiseUp24.

Students can use our Net Price Calculator to help estimate their potential costs and aid. This is a fantastic tool as students await their financial aid offers – expected later this spring.

The Net Price Calculator is just one of the tools available to assist your students as they understand the cost of attendance. Financial aid offers will provide additional information about a student’s estimated cost of attendance. For students who have submitted their FAFSA, we anticipate that financial aid offers will be available in early to mid-April.

We know that paying for college can create a lot of questions for students. Arizona’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) has a variety of resources and events designed to support students in navigating financial wellness. Students can find videos about Scholarship Universe and recordings of previous workshops. OSFA also has a variety of upcoming events, like Bear Down & Wise Up and FAFSA Filing Workshops (in English & Spanish). And don’t forget to check out the 2024-2025 FAFSA Updates webpage for up to date information and FAFSA FAQs.

FAFSA INFORMATION!

Welcome to 2024!  With the new year comes lots of developments in the world of college funding and planning. The FAFSA Simplification Act totally revamped the process of applying and qualifying for federal student aid. Simplification may not be an appropriate term; but what’s most important is that the form is now live on the FAFSA website. If you have a college bound student for the upcoming school year, you can (and should) access that form here. You can also utilize our new free Student Aid Index (previously known as the Expected Family Contribution) calculator on our website through this link.
