Important Dates to Remember
A NOTE FROM Mrs. Udall:
Dear Heritage Families, we made it to Fall Break! It’s been a wonderful first quarter with so many great things happening on our campus. We appreciate the support from our PTO selling lunches, providing faculty lunches, and volunteering for a variety of activities. As we go into the second quarter, I want to share some information.
- Second quarter days off: November 11 (Veterans Day) and November 24 & 25 (Thanksgiving)
- Heritage does not send home report cards. All teachers should have updated gradebooks as of Oct. 1. Please check PowerSchool to see how your scholar is performing at midterm.
- Did you know our Heritage teachers have been ranked as the #1 faculty in the state? We agree! Heritage has incredible instructors who love and care about our scholars. Our teachers create rigorous learning opportunities every day. Read these articles for more information why Heritage is so great.
- Best District Best Teachers
- We’re still searching for another SPED teacher. Mrs. Johnstun, our long term substitute, is taking great care of our scholars, and we sure appreciate her. If you have any questions related to your SPED scholar, please contact Kerri Walker for JH scholars and Dawn Schwenkert for HS scholars. If you know anyone who is qualified to teach SPED, send them our way!
- Do you have another child hoping to be a Heritage Hero? Open Enrollment for new Heritage scholars runs from November 1 – December 31, 2021. Go to hamesa.com to register online for next school year.
- Covid is still with us — not in high numbers — but it’s here. Our mitigation plan is still in place, and we appreciate your help.
- There will continue to be construction on First Avenue for the next two weeks. The city is creating a bike lane. It should be completed the week of October 11. If you use the alley north of the school to drop off your scholars, do not STOP in the alley. It blocks traffic and creates a dangerous situation.
- Homecoming Week will be October 18 – 22 with Spirit Days, Alumni activities, Tailgate, FB game, and Homecoming Dance all happening that week! Mark your calendars.
- Finals will occur the week of December 13. Please plan to have your scholars at school to take their finals.
- Looking way forward – the Awards Assembly and Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 19. At the Awards Assembly, we pass out all A awards (changed from the 4.0 award). If your scholar is working toward this award, they must receive all As for both semesters.
Have fun over Fall Break with your scholars. Stay safe and we’ll see you on Monday, October 11.
