A NOTE FROM Mrs. Udall:
It is hard to believe that we are coming up on the end of the first quarter already! Just a few reminders about grades:
At Heritage, we do not send home report cards. Instead, PowerSchool communicates a scholar’s academic standing throughout the semester. Next week, the first quarter will end. These quarter grades indicate how your scholar is performing in their classes. All Fall Semester grades become final at the end of the semester in December. Spring Semester grades begin in January with quarter grades reported in March and grades again becoming final at the end of the semester in May. Please continue to monitor your scholars progress in PowerSchool to stay apprised of your scholars’ performance in their classes.
Grade Check letters will be emailed on Friday, 10/1 for scholars who currently have a D or an F in a class. We send these letters out monthly, so scholars and parents are informed if there is a concern and to give the scholar plenty of time to make improvements. Please reach out to the teachers directly if you have questions.
Just a reminder of Heritage Academy’s policy concerning grades:
High school scholars who receive a “D” or an “F” in a required class will not receive credit and will be required to repeat the class at a time other than during the regular school year. This will involve a summer school commitment, either at Heritage, if offered, or at another acceptable school.
In the case of 7th & 8th grade scholars, when even a single class or multiple classes are not passed with a “C-“ or better, there will be no promotion to the next grade. The scholar will have to repeat the entire year and all the classes, even those that were passed. Heritage Academy will not promote a scholar into high school who has not mastered junior high school skills.
Don’t forget to check out the tours/trips being offered!
We are continuing our sanitizing regimen, but unfortunately, Covid is still with us, and we have some positive cases at school. Our mitigation plan is in place and classrooms are being cleaned every day at the end of each period. Scholars and teachers are welcome to wear masks, but it is not required.
I hope you are able to come and enjoy the musical performances this week!
