Dear Heritage Academy Mesa Families,

It is with great excitement that we announce Mrs. Erin McDowell as the new Assistant Principal at Heritage Academy’s Mesa campus, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

Mrs. McDowell has been a valued member of the Heritage Academy Mesa community since 2020, where she has served as a high school English teacher. During her time on campus, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her students and colleagues through her engaging instruction, thoughtful curriculum development, and commitment to helping every scholar succeed. She has also contributed to our school community by leading professional development for teachers and collaborating closely with her department to strengthen alignment and academic rigor across grade levels.

Prior to joining Heritage, Mrs. McDowell taught at ASU Preparatory Academy, where she helped develop advanced curriculum and supported students in achieving college readiness. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s degree in English Education from Arizona State University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and presented research on student engagement and classroom culture.

Mrs. McDowell brings a strong foundation in leadership, communication, and student-centered learning. Her passion for education, combined with her experience and collaborative spirit, make her a natural fit for this role. She is deeply committed to the mission of Heritage Academy and to fostering a positive, academically excellent environment where students can thrive.
