Congratulations Alejandro Zayas Abril, Flinn Scholarship awardee!

Out of over 1,100 applications for the 2025 Flinn Scholarship only twenty seniors were selected. This is the state’s most prestigious merit-based award that provides a full ride to an Arizona public university.

The Flinn Scholarship application requires academic transcripts, minimum standardized test scores, essays and short-answer questions, and recommendations. Flinn Scholars are typically in the top 5% of their graduating class and demonstrate leadership and service in extracurricular activities.

“For 40 years, the Flinn Scholars have studied, innovated, created, and formed community at Arizona’s three public universities. The Flinn Foundation is grateful for this decades-long partnership that has led to three exceptional Honors Colleges that benefit not only the Flinn Scholars, but our universities and the state of Arizona,” said Tammy McLeod, Ph.D., Flinn Foundation president and CEO.

“Watching these young adults move seamlessly from explaining complex scientific ideas to unpacking global political challenges leaves no doubt that the future is in capable hands,” said Anne Lassen, Flinn Foundation vice president, scholarship and education initiatives. “It’s no surprise that the nation’s top universities compete so fiercely to recruit them.”

Alex has embodied the Heritage mission and is well deserving of this award.  Congratulations!

Interested in EVIT? Check out our Paul Revere Campus!

Heritage Academy offers an exceptional campus on EVIT grounds called Paul Revere Academy.  We have established an incredible partnership to allow scholars to enroll in EVIT programs the academic year they turn 16. For most, this means they can begin Career Technical Education (CTE) programs as sophomores (10th grade), and earn more than one technical certificate by graduation! Additionally, EVIT now offers pathways leading to Associate Degrees, providing even greater opportunities for your scholar!

Our location and flexible scheduling create a seamless educational experience where scholars can:

  • Complete core academic classes (ELA, Math, Science, History, and credit recovery)

  • Pursue specialized CTE courses at EVIT

This unique combination offers:

  • Small class sizes for personalized attention.

  • 55-minute focused learning sessions.

  • Sports and extracurricular opportunities.

  • Dual enrollment options for earning college credit at Paul Revere Academy and EVIT.

  • Workforce-ready skills upon graduation.

Scholars still benefit from a Monday–Thursday schedule, with EVIT classes adding a half-day on Fridays.

Discover how Paul Revere Academy can help your scholar achieve academic success and career readiness. Explore more:
