Dear Heritage Mesa Families,

I would like to share with you a change in leadership at Heritage. To start, I want to thank Dr. Travis Moore for his strong and steady leadership at Heritage Academy. Dr. Moore championed many initiatives to improve scholar achievement, teacher development and teacher appreciation. He will continue with Heritage in a role that he loves: teaching math and personal finance.

Today, I am pleased to announce the promotion of Mrs. Heidi Udall to replace Dr. Moore as the next Principal of Heritage Academy’s Mesa Campus.

Mrs. Udall joined the Heritage English department after 14 years teaching Honors and AP English with Mesa Public Schools. During her time with Mesa Schools, she led two English Departments at two large comprehensive high schools and was an Instructional Specialist.

Mrs. Udall holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Political Science Minor from Brigham Young University and a Master of Secondary Education Degree from Arizona State University.

When she’s not teaching, Mrs. Udall spends her time traveling, hiking, eating chocolate chip cookies and playing games with her wonderful husband and 4 children.

Mrs. Udall shared, “Heritage Academy is a special place to work, and I’m honored to be chosen as its new principal. I thank Travis for his strong leadership and appreciate the way he has supported teachers and families while maintaining high expectations for academics and behavior. Heritage has an amazing faculty, and I’m thrilled to work with them in this role.”

Mrs. Udall will begin her new role on Monday, 29 June 2020. I am confident that her experience as a teacher and school leader will help us thrive in the uncertain times we are faced with. Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Udall in her new role.

Sincerely,

Jared Taylor
