Welcome to Thursday!  Thank you for supporting our school activities by participating in Dollars for Duds.  Your donation helps to fund all of our student activities, like the after school social today!  Soda Rush will be here to provide drinks for purchase and Scholar Council will be handing out free snacks and water so you and your friends can hang out in the courtyard from 3:30-4:30.

This Friday is our Senior vs Staff softball game at 9 am.  Seniors, make sure you let your senior class president, Faydee, know if you are coming. Good luck to everyone involved in this fun tradition.

Scholar Council candidates:  Applications are due today and you will be notified tomorrow of your eligibility for candidacy.  Over the weekend you will need to prepare your speech for the electoral college next Tuesday and Wednesday.  Candidates and electors will need to eat lunch in the auditorium and will be excused from citizenship for two days.  Good luck to all scholars who are running for office in the upcoming election.

We have another opportunity to get involved in our community and government.  The Governor is looking for students “with a passion for service and leadership” to serve on the Governor’s Youth Commission.  This is a unique opportunity to serve as an ambassador in a nationally recognized leadership program! Applicants must be a sophomore, junior, or senior student during the 2021-2022 school year.  Please see Mrs. Udall or Mrs. Pineda if you are interested.  Online applications are due May 7th.

The Spring Musical, Into the Woods, is next week! Performances will be April 22 – 24 at 7 pm , as well as a matinee on Saturday, April 24th at 2 pm. Come and watch your friends tell this fractured fairy tale that joins characters from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and more.  Tickets are available on our website hamesa.com/event
