Welcome to the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)! Our next meeting is August 15th @7pm in room 1.
If you are new to Heritage Academy, we want to make sure you know all parents and teachers are invited to attend our board meetings. These meetings are held the third Tuesday of every school month (except December).
This is a great way to be involved. Come join our dedicated team!
Be Easy To Reach. Give the administration your good email, not your junk email! (important communications)
Get Online. Become familiar with the school website. It is loaded with helpful information! Think school calendar, paying class fees and dues, dress code, PTO, etc. (Interested in carpooling? See PTO section.)
Power Up! Heritage Academy uses PowerSchool , which gives parents and students instant access to information they need to stay up-to-date on student grades, performance, and attendance.
Receive real-time alerts with updates about grades, scores, attendance, assignments, teacher comments, daily bulletins, schedules, and fee transactions.

Like us on Facebook! Like our public FB page, thensearch for Heritage Academy (closed GROUP). It’s fun to follow our Heroes on social media!
Pay your registration fees before the end of the summer to avoid long lines, but make sure you bring your student to the Back to School Open House on August 8th! New scholars who take a tour and practice opening their locker are ahead!
PTO dues. Once a year each family needs to pay $20 when you register. We don’t do large fundraisers (to make life easy for ya’ll) and the dues are used throughout the year for staff appreciation, parent and kid activities, and an end of year school gift.
School Uniform Shirts. Can be purchased through EducationalOutfitters.com or LandsEnd.com. Watch for sales (June) and check with front desk if interested in used shirts that have been donated.
Keep Those Grades Up! At Heritage, a D is a failing grade. The consequences are that it affects their ability to play sports, go on school tours, and if it is the final grade, the scholar will retake the class or, if a core class, the entire school year. (If there is any question about this, please ask a school representative.)
Join us! The PTO encourages parents and teachers to attend the monthly PTO board meetings. Meetings are educational and often the administration asks for parent feedback. We want you there!
Being involved is easy and fun:
Teachers/Coaches will ask for help on occasion from parents, usually through email. Let them know you are willing.
Sign-Up Genius is a way PTO or others at school might ask for help (emailed) — Examples: bring cake for Constitution Week, or chaperone a performance at the MAC, or help with Spelling Bee.
Come to a PTO meeting and just hear what’s being discussed. Meetings are typically the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Volunteer to serve a 1-2 year term on the PTO as a board member.
Information about the PTO at Heritage Academy Mesa
Our PTO has no carnival! No big fundraisers! (There are plenty of passive fundraising opportunities, but the PTO has no major fundraisers that we will ask you to support.)
We have a $20.00 per family, beginning of the school year payment, as a yearly dues, period. As a parent you are automatically a part of PTO at Heritage! What do we do with the money? Read on….
The PTO’s ultimate goal is to benefit every scholar who attends Heritage. How we accomplish that is for each PTO initiative and committee to directly benefit heritage teachers and/or parents.
The Committees currently are: Staff and Teacher Appreciation, Academics, Fine Arts, Sports, Membership, Communications, Parent/Child service projects, and Constitution Week.
PTO Board members are parents or teachers at Heritage Academy who are elected yearly in April and their primary responsibility is to chair or co-chair one of the PTO committees. Using their leadership, all parents and teachers are invited to support the year’s initiatives, how and when they are able.
PTO Board vacancies sometimes need to be filled during the school year, ask for details.
If you have questions or to get in touch with someone on the PTO, just ask at the front desk. Information is also posted to the school website and Facebook page.
All parents and teachers are invited to attend the monthly PTO Board meetings and contribute input.
